34 / 229 page  Functional overview STM32G473xB STM32G473xC STM32G473xE 34/229 DS12712 Rev 3 3.24.1 Advanced motor control timer (TIM1, TIM8, TIM20) The advanced motor control timers can each be seen as a four-phase PWM multiplexed on 8 channels. They have complementary PWM outputs with programmable inserted dead-times. They can also be seen as complete general-purpose timers. The 4 independent channels can be used for: • Input capture • Output compare • PWM generation (edge or center-aligned modes) with full modulation capability (0-100%) • One-pulse mode output In debug mode, the advanced motor control timer counter can be frozen and the PWM outputs disabled in order to turn off any power switches driven by these outputs. Many features are shared with the general-purpose TIMx timers (described in Section 3.24.2) using the same architecture, so the advanced motor control timers can work together with the TIMx timers via the Timer Link feature for synchronization or event chaining.
