Application information Semiconductors are light sensitive. Exposure to light sources can cause the IC to malfunction. In this application you must protect the IC from light. The protection has to be done on all sides of the IC, i.e. front, rear and all edges. The pinning of the PCF8811 has an optimum design for single plane wiring e.g. for chip-on-glass display modules.
