Predictions show that prototype devices (TMX or TMP) have a greater failure rate than the standard

production devices. Texas Instruments recommends that these devices not be used in any production

system because their expected end-use failure rate still is undefined. Only qualified production devices are

to be used.

TI device nomenclature also includes a suffix with the device family name. This suffix indicates the

package type (for example, ZWT), the temperature range (for example, "Blank" is the commercial

temperature range), and the device speed range in megahertz (for example, "Blank" is the default

[600-MHz]).

Figure 2-14 provides a legend for reading the complete device name for any TMS320C642x DSP platform

member.

The device speed range symbolization indicates the maximum CPU frequency at the highest CVDD voltage supported.

To determine the maximum CPU frequency at other supported CVDD voltages, see Section 6.7.1, PLL1 and PLL2.

For the actual device operating frequency (speed), see the FSYSCLK1 in Section 5.2, Recommended Operating

Conditions.
