HARDWARE CONFIGURATION

The following steps describe how to set up and configure the hardware:

Supply power to the evaluation board using a USB cable. Alternatively, power

can be supplied to the RN1723 Evaluation Board and RN171 Evaluation Board

by inserting two AAA batteries into the battery pack.

Connect the USB cable to a USB port on the host system and to the USB connector

on the RN evaluation board.

If the drivers are not automatically installed, download and install the FTDI Chipset

drivers from http://www.microchip.com/wifi. From the Wireless menu, click Firmware

and scroll to the Software section. Click FTDI Chipset Drivers to download the zip

archive.

Once the FTDI drivers are installed, the COM port is automatically assigned based

on the active connection.
