165 / 249 page  165/249 ST92195C/D - VPS & WSS SLICER 7.8 VPS & WSS SLICER 7.8.1 Introduction The VPS/WSS digital sections perform several functions: s Separate the horizontal and vertical sync signals s Determine the field and line information (in conjunction with the Sync Extractor) s Process the data stream s Generate timing and windows for datastream information extraction s Load data into the registers and report any bi- phase errors found on any bytes (each word of information has an error report to help increase performance, especially during weak signals) Figure 92.
